Always Use Rubber - Festivals

There's a new challenge over on the Always Use Rubber challenge. The ladies on the team have set the theme as Festivals. You can use any festival you like as long as there is some rubber stamping on your creation. needless to say I have gone with Christmas as I still have a few cards to make.

The card was made using a recent magazine freebie and coloured with Copics. I added some die cut holly in the corners.

I've spent the last two days writing cards and wrapping presents to post -Ugh! I think I'm beginning to get withdrawal symptoms - I need to craft!

Christmas Animals

Well here we are at Tuesday again and time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This week the theme has been chosen by Helen and it is Christmas Animals. Actually I'm not sure whether a penguin can be classed as an animal - but that's what I've gone with!

I embossed a piece of white card with a brick EF then lightly sponged it with grey ink to add some definition, and cut a door way out of it to give the impression of an igloo. The penguin is from one of last year's stamp sets from SU which I never got round to using. A piece of twine and a tag completed the card.

Pop out card!

I recently had to make a quick card for Roy's great-niece who was just about to be three when she came to our wedding. I had some perfect girly paper from a pad that I had won some time ago, with fairies, princesses and castles, which doesn't get used much as I have all boys!  One sheet of paper for the card front. Then I found some snippets of pale pink card to diecut the letters and number for the front of the card.

For the inside I found a larger snippet and used a SU die for the inside. In case you can't quite see it, it says Happy Birthday

I'm popping over to the Playground with this as snippets have been used. Wonder how the Christmas preparations are going there?

" Something beginning with T "

the weeks are really flying by as it's already time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz. This time the challenge is "Something beginning with T" and as I was in full Christmas card making mode, it had to be  Christmas trees!

I used the new SU stamp set and matching dies Peaceful Pines. The sentiment is from Clearly Besotted.  Please do pop over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT have made.

Winter for Rudolph Day

I started making this card a couple of weeks ago for another challenge, but went down with a streaming cold, so it didn't get finished for a while. Of course by the time I did finish it the challenge was long closed!  But it is perfect for Scrappymo's Rudolph Day.

The stamp is from  Inkylicious, stamped in Island Indigo. Some sponging for the sky and fluffy stuff added for texture. The snow is Nuvo Glossy White crystal drops.

snowman

Its time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week it is Snowman chosen by Jane. I have loved this Penny Black snowman stamp for ages and eventually managed to track one down.

The paper was from the snippets box and is some retired SU paper. the snowman was coloured with Copics. Do go over to the challenge blog and see what the rest of the DT has done.

Butterfly Dream

I have been having a bit of a clear out in the craft room now that I think I have made enough Christmas cards for this year. As a result I made this card - all from the snippets and UFO box!

The butterfly was left over from a birthday present I made last February, the embossed background was a piece I had embossed and never used, and the pink paper and diecut sentiment were snippets.
Obviously I am taking this over to the Playground as I haven't been there for quite a while and it also fits the theme of "Things with Wings" at Always use Rubber. I'm delighted to say I won the October prize there.

Reindeer at Cardz 4 Guyz

Its time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week  it is Reindeer chosen by Julie. I had just got this new die which is a magazine freebie and was perfect for the challenge. So I have two very simple cards. The first onehas the die backed with some green glitter paper mounted onto an embossed card blank.

For thesecond card i cut the die out of red card and mounted it straight onto an embossed card blank.

These are so quick and easy to make they really lend themselves to batch making if you're running short of time!

Always Use Rubber - Destinations

I was delighted to be picked for the Top 3 in the first challenge of Always Use Rubber. Unfortunately I missed the second challenge due to a very heavy cold, I had started the card but by the time I put it all together the challenge was closed!  So I was determined to enter the current challenge which is Destinations.

It gave me the perfect opportunity to use a NBUS stamp set of cityscapes from Altenwew. I embossed it in white on navy card and added some snow/stars with Nuvo Glossy White drops. Some small candy dots and sentiment added to the white panel, then I added the bow as I thought the pattern on the ribbon nicely echoed the widows on the buildings. But I'm not sure it added much to it!

Oh Christmas Tree at Cardz 4 Guyz

Well the sore throat I had at the end of last week eventually morphed into a streaming cold, so not much crafting was done.Fortunately I had already made my DT card for Cardz 4 Guyz

I stamped and embossed the trees and stars in gold then ran the edges of the card along the Versamark ink pad and dipped them in the embossing powder to give a distressed look. The sentiment was stamped and embossed on vellum and wrapped aroung the panel. Easy peasy!
