Sympathy for Less is More

That is of course a sympathy card for the latest challenge at Less is More. I didn't set out to make a sympathy card, it just sort of evolved.  I decided to use a NBUS stamp from Visible Image and stamped in black and clear embossed it. I had intended adding some colour to the flower and making a birthday card.

However after I had done that I rather liked the look of it as it was and thought it would make a good sympathy card, and as I have sadly had to use a few just recently my supply did need topping up.

Black and white sympathy

Shopping our Stash has a black and white theme this week.  I needed to replace some sympathy cards as unfortunately I’ve had to use some recently.

I went for a fairly simple look to show the pretty decoupage.  The sheet has been in my stash for ever so it was time to use it.

Happy Little Stampers Watercolour Challenge

So here we are in 2019! I hope you have all had a lovely time over the holidays, but now we are back to business with the first of the Happy Little Stampers challenges.

I was rapidly running out of time just before Christmas when I made this card and found texture and watercolour difficult to combine, so went with an embossing folder to add the texture.

As I had also used my last sympathy card in the previous week I decided to make at least one to have in my stash of cards. The stamp I used is an old favourite from Little Claire, and I frequently use it for sympathy cards. I watercoloured it with DI Oxides. I had stamped the image and started colouring it before I remembered that SU cardstock doesn't really like water, but fortunately it didn't bubble like it usually does.

I do hope you will join in with us and look forward to seeing your creations.

Remembrance or Sympathy

The new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz is Remembrance or Sympathy. I decided to go with sympathy. I have wanted this stamp from SU for ages and only just got round to getting it. I think it is the perfect image for a sympathy card.
I stamped and embossed it in Elegant Eggplant and mounted it onto card of the same colour.

Cardz 4 Guyz - Sympathy/Remembrance

It's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and this week the challenge chosen by Cyndi is sympathy/remembrance. i found it quite difficult to think of something to do for a masculine sympathy card as I would normally use a flower.

Then I decided to have a look at some books with sketches in after seeing Jane using some here.Mine is not the same book, its one ive had for a long time but don't think i've ever used it.! This is what I ended up with. I had a much nicer paper for the part circle, but unfortunately I cut the wrong side off it and it didn't look right on on the other side of the card(the pattern was upside down!) and I didn't have any more.

Black and White for Twofers

I hadn't realised it had been so long since I last blogged. I've not been feeling very creative just lately, partly because when it is hot and sunny my craft room is like an oven! Also the hard drive on my laptop failed so it had to go the PC doctor and I have been reloading stuff ever since. I;m hoping that he might be able to recover some of my files but he didn't seem too hopeful. Fortunately all my photos are on an external hard drive - phew!

A couple of weeks ago I entered the Twofers challenge for the first time, and was delighted to be picked in the top 3 with this card. This challenge has been running now for some time but  they never get very many entries despite the hard work of the girls running it. So please do think of encouraging them by joining in.

This time the theme is black and white and I am dashing in at the last minute with my entry. I had been playing with these new dies from Stampin' Up! with a view to making some wedding invitations(not in black!) but thought they would actually look good in black and white. So a sympathy card was made, I like to have one in my stash as when they they are neede they are usually needed in a hurry.

I'm also popping over to the Playground where Miss Di is back in control, as the black card was two snippets.

Less is More - Colour Challenge

Less is More have a
"Colour Challenge
this week we have chosen  the wonderful  the Spring colours of
YELLOW and GREEN "

For a change I'm not joining in right at the last minute! I had this image stamped out on my desk left over from making a ympathy card a few months ago, so I decided to make another one to have to hand - just in case. This is one of my "go to" stamps for sympathy cards.

It's from Little Claire Designs and was one of their monthly kit stamps a couple of years ago. I used a stitched square die from L'il Inkers and coloured it with SU's blendabilities.

Another rose card

Just as I had finished the red rose card below I heard that a friend was over from France for his son's funeral and was going to call in. So using the same stamp I quickly made another one to use as a sympathy card but this time stamped it in Adirondack Slate and used a HOTP sentiment.
