Rudolph Day March

I'm still using some of the very old decoupage I have in my stash. I found this small Christmas rose quite difficult to use. Eventually I found some Christmassy paper that worked with it.

I then used one of the aperture cards I have also had in my stash for ages, Some red ribbon and a sentiment completed the card.

Rudolph Day February

I made this card for Rudolph Day earlier in the month as I knew I was going to be busy. Then I nearly forgot to do the post!

I have been going through some of my very old stash and came acoss this decoupage and the aperture cards. I think the decoupage was from Kanban. The wo together with some gold ribbon and a gold stampes sentiment finished it off.

Rudolph Day April

Rudolph Day is here again! I’m sure it comes round faster each month!  I was going through some of my old magazines and came across a Joanna Sheen one with Thomas Kinkade images, so decided it was time to use at least one of them.

My design is very loosely based on one in the magazine. The image is decoupaged and fits inside the embossed frame that also came with the magazine. I mounted this onto some very old Kanban card and placed it at a jaunty angle. Some sequins and a peel off sentiment finished the card. I’m afraid I’m a bit behind with commenting. I bought a new iPad and list access to Bloglovin for a couple of days until I managed to get it sorted.

Hand Painted Peacock

One of my card making friends has been doing a lot of painting and at our last card making evening she gave each of us a decoupage sheet as a trial. This is the card I made with the sheet.

I mounted the decoupage on some shimmery gold card cut our with a Crealies die. I would like to enter this into this week’s Allsorts Challenge.

Winter Foliage at Make My Monday

The new challenge at Make My Monday is Winter Foliage. I had been going through my box of papers and decoupage to send some to a friend's little girl who has just started cardmaking, and I came across this pretty piece of holly.

So a very quick and easy card for you today. I mounted the decoupage onto a red circle. The card blank was embossed with a Sizzix EF which was too short so i did the top and then the bottom, matching it up in the centre.

Don't forget to check out all my teamies makes.

Things with Wings!

WhileI was moving my craft room I came across a box containing lots of decoupage sheets bought many moons ago! I'm sure I'll never use all of them but this one of a kingfisher has made it onto a card! And it fits in well with the new challenge at Make My Monday which is Things with Wings.

I have to say cutting round the branches was incredibly fiddly! If I had to do it again, I think I would just cut the bird out.

Don't forget to check out all the DTs makes and hope you'll join in!

Rudolph Day- August

Well here we are again at Rudolph Day, only 3 more to go!! I decided to go through my box of bits and pieces,as opposed to snippets, and found some decoupage bits already made up. Time to turn them into cards.
It's a long time since I made a DL card, but it seemed to work quite well with the round decoupage and a gold embossed sentiment.

Then I made up a couple more,so that's three m0re for the box!

We are Three at Cardz 4 Guyz

Hello, it's time for a new challenge at Cardz 4 Guyz and we are celebrating our 3rd birthday! So I decided to make an age appropriate card, although I have no idea who it will go to as I don't have anyone in the family or even friends who have a neatly 3 year old. But it gave me a chance to use up some very old decoupage papers from Papernation.

The word Birthday is a rub on and unfortunately it really shows up in the photo, it really doesn't look as bad as this in real life.

Rudolph Day!

It's the first  Rudolph Day of the year over at Scrappymo's blog and the first time it has been hosted there as well, Sarn having retired from running the challenge at the end of last year. Now in the ast I haven't joined in toll later in the  year but thought I'd start early this year to support the challenge in its new home. the rules are simple - make a Christmas card - just one!
Here's mine:

I even managed to use some old stash up and snippets too! I've had the decoupage for ever, the papers were a pad I bought in 2013 and never used, so I was extravagant and used a whole sheet! the green mat was the snippet, the sentiment came with the decoupage but I recoloured it with Copics. So I'm also going to head over to Pixies Snippet Playground  - there's rumours of a horse being there last week so must see if it's still there(lol), and as I've completey covered the card front with paper I'm going to join in with Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge.

As you can see I also had some help sorting out my snippet box!

Rudolph Day

Sarn runs a very popular Rudolph day challenge but so far this year I haven't joined in. It's a sad fact of life that as we get older our Christmas Card list also gets smaller! As I enjoy making Christmas cards I always end up with a surplus which is why I am only just beginning to think about making some. This year she wants us to produce two cards in the same post. So here are my efforts from yesterday.

Both very similar. But the good part is that it is another sheet of Dufex decoupage that I've used up - it has been in my stash for ages - and I even used some of the peel offs bought when I first started making cards and soon relegated to the back of the cupboard!

Merry Monday and Blog Refresh

Hello all. I have spent the last couple of days giving my blog a small makeover. I've decided to go for a nice clean look! Onto the card and this is my entry to this week's Merry Monday sketch challenge.

I am also on a mission to use up some of my very old stash - bought when I first started making cards. Like a lot of people I bought things that I thought would be useful to build up my supplies and some of it came in very large kits!

This is using up some decoupage and Christmas papers . I've also used a number of snippets for the sentiment and tags, so I'm off to play in the Playgound as well!

Edited: just too late again so will have to take it tomorrow to the palyground!

First Christmas Cards.

I have delayed as long as possible posting Christmas cards but the time has come! I made these for my two grandsons. Very easy cards - some backing papers from my stash - no idea what make and some decoupage from sheets I have had for a long time. again I don't know what make they were. Some Polar White Flowersoft was added to them both for a bit of interest. I had to take them downstairs to photograph ( I craft in the tiny bedroom) and some of the flowersoft had obviously fallen off on the cupboard un-noticed. I was very perplexed a few days later when I noticed it and wondered what on earth the cat had been doing while I was out. Until the light suddenly dawned on me!!!

Easter cards

I don't usually make Easter cards but the card swap I participate in has the the Easter for this months and decided to send one to each of my grandsons as well as it's difficult to post Easter eggs. No doubt they'll have "chocolate tokens" in!! No idea what make the decoupage is as it's been in my stash a long time but the dotty paper is from Papermania as are the flowers and bow and the cardstock is from Kanban.

Papernation Cards

I've decided I need to use up some my ever increasing stash!!!  So I've used some Papernation decoupage for two male cards that I have been asked to make.

Happy New Year

A Happy New Year to you all!  I thought I'd show this card made for my partner's daughter. I used the Joanna Sheen Ivory cats CD - I think some of the images on it are gorgeous - very rich colours. Although it doesn't really show up very well it is quite heavily decoupaged.

Too hot to craft!!!

Well the weather last week was so hot and humid all crafting had to stop. My craft room is small, faces south and was unbearable. Today though the weather is much fresher thank goodness! I like the hot but not the humid! I did eventually finish one card as the temperatures soared but even that took some time.I bought the new Joanna Sheen Eastern Treasures CD and printed off backing sheet on some vellum type paper then some decoupage. I managed to slip when cutting the base layer of decoupage so had to print another sheet. The ink on that one didn't dry properly presunably because of the weather so smudged the ink so had to print a third sheet. I left that one overnight before trying to cut it out! The result is I have lots of spare bits to use up. This is the card I finally completed.

Another Paper Nation Card

This will be the last Papernation card for a while. I can't think of anybody else they will suit! I've made this one for my son's girlfriend's birthday. They both do a lot of walking holidays so thought this was ideal. I made it a while ago but couldn't post it on here for obvious reasons.
