Something Diferent.

I haven't made anything crafty for the last few days as I just haven't felt like it. I think I must have had a bug of some sort as I just felt incredibly tired for two days and the closest I got to crafting was going to my calligaphy class on Friday afternoon. So I thought I'd show you this clock I made a little while ago and which now has pride of place on my craft room wall. The basic clock came from AnnaMarie Designs. It was my first attempt at doing anything with a wooden item. I painted it with acrylic paint -it took three coatd to get an even finish. Maybe I should have used Gesso or something first. Then I randomly stamped over it using blue and silver inkpads and a variety of stamps, and inked the edges.

The numbers were rubbed with pewter gilding wax.

So far you will be thinking that there is nothing fromStampin' Up in this project - but the stamps were all SU!

Stamps used:  En Francais, Everything Eleanor

More of the same!

A little while ago I made this card and gave it to my OH as he wanted a card for a work colleague. Now he likes all the cards I make but he particularly like this one and asked me to make some more the exactly the same for other colleagues' birthdays. I suggested doing them in different colourways but he wanted the same yellow! So not having any more So Saffron I used Daffodil Delight

Then just to prove that it could look just as nice in a different colour I made one in Melon Mambo.

And this is the inside.

And the envelope

Thank you for looking!

Pink and Girly

The Dynamic Duo challenge this week is monochromatic pinks. So the card had to be "girly" didn't it?

I started off with a Pretty in Pink card base then I embossed a piece of white card with the  Petals a Plenty embossing folder and lightly ran a Regal Rose ink pad over it to highlight the flowers, mounted it onto Crumb Cake and added some seam binding. The patterned oval was stamped with Regal Rose and mounted on  Pretty in Pink oval. The flowers were stamped in pretty in Pink and Regal Rose and the small flower was stamped onto the butterfly wings.  A doily and some pearls finished it off.
Cardstock: Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake, Whisper White
Stamp sets: Oh Hello, Everything Eleanor, Teeny Tiny Wishes
Inks: Regal Rose, Pretty in Pink, Crumb Cake
Other: Crumb Cake seam binding, Pearls, Elegant Butterfly punch, Bitty Butterfly punch, Paper doilies, Word Window punch, Petals-a-Plenty EF.

Aviary Black and So Saffron

The Dynamic Duos challenge this week is to use Black with So saffron and a dessert option of ribbon.

I have to say initially I struggled with this colour combo but eventually settled on using the Aviary stamp set. I stamped the background with Versamark and clear embossed it.  Ribbon? Well I added the roses after rubbing the So Saffron ink pad over them and they are made of ribbon so hope they count!

Cardstock: So Saffron, Black and Whisper White
Stamp sets: Aviary, Everything Eleanor, Wishes your Way
Ink: So Saffron, Black Stazon, Versamark
Other: Flower Trim, Itty Bitty, Bird Builder, Modern Label, Word Window punches,  rhinestones, Adorning Accents Edgelits

Less is More Challenge - Week 79 - Colour

I have to say I have really struggled with this week's challenge! The colour combo is blue and green and everything I tried ended up in the bin!! I eventually came up with this but don't think it really has enough "white space".The flourish is from SU's Everything Eleanor stamp set and the butterflies are Embosslits also from SU. The blue card is a textured pearlised one that I think originally came from QVC when I first started making cards - a few years ago now!

Dynamic Duos Challenge

The colour combo on the Dynamic Duos challenge this week is Pumpkin Pie and Wild Wasabi. I neede to make a congratulations card for a friend so chose to use it for the challenge. It's a very quick and easy card to make. I used the Everything Eleanor stamp set ( as it was already on my desk!) The small flowers are single layered and the larger one decoupaged to make it stand out. I seem to be short on stamps that say "congratulations" other than very small ones - so used the only other one I've got from the Perfect Punches set. I must remedy this shortfall on my next order!!!
