Roses and Chevrons

Dynamic Duo's challenge this week is a colour combo of Strawberry Slush and Daffodil Delight.
You would not believe that this card is the 4th attempt! How difficult could it be? I stamped the chevrons and had the rose stamped ready to add when I decided I'd add some machine stitching round the edge as it seems to be very in vogue at the moment.  As I have just bought a new sewing machine I didn't want to use it on card so dug out a small JML one that someone had given me years ago. (I've never used it as it took as long to set up as my big machine). I thought it would be perfect for cardmaking. It took ages to manage to thread it then stated sewing and went very wonky! Second attempt I used the foot pedal as I thought it would be easier to control - wrong - it only seemed to have two speeds - fast and stop!! So I gave up that idea and decided I would prick round the edges and then doodle faux stitching. BUT the pen I was using decided to dry up part way round and all my others were a different thickness - so number 3 went in the bin with the others.

For the fourth attempt - no stitching faux or otherwise, but I did add the leaves and layered up the rose instead. So you can see why this is a last minute entry - in fact I'm surprised I've even made it!
The lovely stamps are from Clearly Besotted. I also used the sketch from a new challenge blog - Seize the Sketch.

Shades of Grey No. 2

This is my second card for the LIM challenge this week. You can see my first one here.

For this one I have used some new stamps from Clearly Besotted which I ordered on Saturday. They arrived on Tuesday beautifully wrapped in pink tissue. I have stamped them in SU Basic Grey and Smokey Slate and fussy cut the rose and leaves. The base card is SU's Shimmer silver. I think this might be the last card for this week as I have the workmen in firrting a new boiler!!
